The word "Makor" translates into English as "source".

Makor Publishing attempts to represent an authentic traditional text of prayer from Spain originating from Jerusalem.

After establishing communities in the Iberian peninsula Jews have settled across the globe, yet still claiming their identity to Spain as Sepharedim.

While in other lands, prayer text, accents & traditions have been adjusted, the Spanish and Portuguese tradition has maintained consistency.

The currently used prayer books in our congregations range from 100-150 years old.

The Makor Publishing staff are experts in their fields consisting of Rabbis, prayer leaders, historians, Hebrew grammarians, typesetters & etc.

They primarily live in Jerusalem, Amsterdam, London, New York, Philadelphia.
